Confession: Part of why I cut off all my hair, is because I’m too stylistically challenged to do anything with it.
Like those messy up-dos, where women just twist their hair up and put it in a clamp. Impossible. I spent an hour trying, and it just kept falling out.

Everyone is always like: “Oh, your hair is so cute when it’s curly, why don’t you leave it?” I refer to my original post as the answer. It’s not like it ever turns out all sexy like Jennifer Beals or Julia Roberts.
I once said how much I loved Julia’s hair, and my mother was all: “But that’s your hair!” And I was like: “NO. That’s how people think curly hair is, it’s not.”
I am so fucking sick of the idea that women who don’t shave are freakish or dirty. →
If you believe that women who don’t shave are dirty, unnatural, freakish, disgusting, or anything else along those lines, then you have been brainwashed by the media and advertisers who are out only to make money and make you conform. Let me repeat: if you prefer to shave, that’s your choice. Just don’t get fooled into thinking that body hair is somehow unhygienic and dirty. How can body hair be unfeminine if women naturally grow hair? How can body hair be unnatural on women if it occurs naturally? How can body hair be dirty on women if it’s not on men? Why can’t people see that all those ideas are complete bullshit?

When my mom visited Europe in the 80s women were considered prostitutes if they shaved their underarms I can only imagine if they found out she shaved elsewhere. There’s endless discussions about this, and I find that most men won’t even go near women with stubble more often that not. Which I find to be funny because generally they trim and not shave. Or shave irregularly which can actually cause bloody scratches on a completely shaven woman.
I personally think completely shaven it reminds me of being prepubescent too much. With that being said. There are still a large percentage of butch women that do not shave at all. And I was with quite a few of them. I didn’t mind at all. Though it was rather odd for me to have shaved legs when they didn’t. But eventually I didn’t even care whether I had shaved mine or not.
